The EPA’s purpose is to ensure that environmental protection contributes to making our communities and ecosystems diverse, sustainable, and economically productive. They have developed a number of educational sites such as Water Source to support this mission. ENERGY STAR

Facing the Future is a nonprofit leader whose mission is to create tools for educators that equip and motivate students to develop critical thinking skills, build global awareness and engage in positive solutions for a sustainable future. Washington STEM
Washington STEM is tackling the STEM skills gap by reimagining and revitalizing STEM education. The organization launched in March 2011 with the mission to advance excellence, equity, and innovation in STEM education. Green Ribbon Schools
The U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools recognition award honors schools and districts that are exemplary in reducing environmental impact and costs; improving the health and wellness of students and staff; and providing effective environmental and sustainability education, which incorporates STEM, civic skills and green career pathways.
