Learn to Conserve Week is December 16-20th. Each day at O’Keeffe there will be new energy saving tips and a chance to sign the pledge at lunch!

12/06/13 Chavez Elementary

On Wednesday, December 4th, Chavez Power Patrol students completed their first power patrol of the school!! They also hung posters!! Check out the pictures!

12/06/13 Allis Elementary

All power patrol members made locker posters that match and have the pledge written on them, so that students and teachers know who their energy guardians are!

The second Power Patrol of the year was a success! We visited 3 classrooms and audited them with the new Power Patrol Worksheets. Each classroom turned off their lights at the end of the day. Keep up the good work!

We will begin having children fill out pledge forms during the afterschool program today!

During the after school program we introduced the idea of saving energy and sustainability by reading Dr. Seuss’s "The Lorax," and following up with a discussion.

11/27/13 Thoreau Elementary

At today’s meeting we looked over the draft of the skit and picked rolls. We also added "Turn it off" stickers to the light switches in al the downstairs rooms.

We started recycling cartons today! Power patrol will determine the schedule so that all breakfasts and lunches are covered.
