FYI for staff and students. Our Cherokee Community and specifically the student council is involved encouraging, supporting and monitoring this program. thanks for your support! ENERGY POLICY SUMMARY In 2011 the School Board approved a district-wide energy policy. Here is a summary of the pieces directly pertaining to students and staff. LIGHTING Use day lighting whenever possible. Turn off lights when rooms will be empty. Where possible, given multiple lighting zones, illuminate only the areas of the room that are in use. Where possible, given multiple lighting levels, choose the level of lighting that is adequate for the task at hand. Turn off miscellaneous lighting when possible. HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING Please where weather- appropriate clothing. Unless otherwise specified, classroom and office thermostats are to be set at 68-70
