Turn off the lights when you leave a room!

Great News!

01/27/12 Lake View Elementary

Lake View students and staff are working hard to make changes. We are trying to save energy by remembering to close the shades at the end of the school day. Some teachers have even added the task of closing the shades to their end of the day routine and made it an assigned job for a student. Way to go!

Good News!

01/27/12 Lake View Elementary

Lake View staff and students are really concerned about making changes to help save energy and money. Some classrooms are only turning on half of their lights on sunny days, leaving off the set of lights that are nearest the windows. Good Job!

Lake View Energy Audit

11/28/11 Lake View Elementary

The Lake View Power Patrol had an opportunity to meet with Glenn Bolt for an energy audit. Mr. Bolt showed students how to use a light meter to measure the light level in room. The school district standard for a classroom is 45-50 and we found out that sunlight can register over 2,000 on the light meter! Mr.Bolt made some energy saving recommendations for our school including closing classroom doors to keep the heat in and not using the set of overhead lights nearest the windows.
