Community Gardening

Students at Sandburg who are members of the Power Patrol will also be doing some community gardening here at Sandburg. We are very excited to tie concepts of sustainable energy and sustainable eating together!
Earth Day Clean Up

Last week, on Earth Day, all of the students in the after school program helped to clean up trash on school grounds and in the surrounding woods. We discussed the importance of making sure that we don’t litter, and create as little waste as possible. The kids also had a lot of fun planting their own seeds.
Power Patrol & Faucets

Today we went on a Power Patrol and checked all the faucets for leaks!

We went on our first power patrol and also checked the school for leaky faucets. Luckily we didn’t find any, but we still calculated how much water a leaky faucet could waste per year.

I have gotten Belkin Conserve Insight that I have attached to one of the school’s printers. We are going to see how much energy the printer uses and how much money it costs. More to come.
