On Wednesday, February 5th, Chavez Power Patrol students welcomed Troy Zimdars from Mckinstry and Julie Jarvis. Troy talked to students about saving energy and then took students on a building tour of the behind the scenes mechanical workings of Chavez! We all learned a lot!

Students in the Chavez Power Patrol went on patrol today. They completed audits of classrooms, handed out classroom reminder checklists, and put stickers on the light switches to remind others to turn off the lights.

Today 5th grade Power Patrol students started presentations to the kindergarten classrooms!!! They are reading a book about recycling and gathering pledges from the kindergarteners. The book was purchased with money that was given to last years’ power patrol!

On Wednesday, December 4th, Chavez Power Patrol students completed their first power patrol of the school!! They also hung posters!! Check out the pictures!

Building Operator Tour

Chavez Power Patrol Students were given a building operator tour today by our custodian, John Erlandson. We learned a lot about the school’s heating, cooling, air quality, and water supply. We also learned how much it costs to power our school!
